I think they all do, but some will take a while, around 1 week. I would call and ask!
ReplyDeleteI really dislike photo scientific. Pretty unfriendly. They can do 1 hour development though, so that is a plus!
ReplyDeleteHave tried Filme in Causeway Bay (http://www.thefilme.com). A bit expensive but service was good and their scans are better than others. Have also tried Color Six and Dotwell. To be honest, none of these 3 have been consistent. Some good experiences but then some not so good.

ReplyDeletePlease avoid East Asia 'Professional' - $70 for scans at a measily 1000 x 1500 resolution - barely 1.5 megapixels. Surely that can't be right.

ReplyDeleteBest printer is Danny Chau digital in Chai Wan. He prints for Magnum and National Geographic photographers. Michael Yamashita personally recommended him. He also helps you adjust your images to the preferred tone if needed :)

ReplyDeleteHey there,thanks for the update. Prices iImentioned are for color development. I paid 45 last week for scan and developing of a color film. I think they outsource bw (and the prices in the 90s were similar)

I just had a very bad experience at DOT-WELL in TST where they scratched my film and blamed it on my camera. It is total bs! How come my camera decides to scratch only roll 3, 5 and 9. It would happen when a photo lab assistant doesn't put the film carefully in the processor. When I got the next batch processed in another shop it didn't happen. Maybe it's the old lady, who gave attitude to me after I jokingly mentioned why would they advertise 1 hour process and scan if they can't deliver. Also spoke to some friends, who didn't have positive things to say about her service. So be careful, I will avoid them from now on!

DeleteThanks a bunch for this post, very helpful. I ended up going to Output Pro Lab for some 120 based on Unknown's post. They were able to both a roll of b&w and c-41 with same day turnaround (not sure if I got lucky or what.) They were also very friendly and knowledgeable, and I'm happy with the scans. I think I paid around $80 for two rolls, which is a bargain compared to US prices!! They also had a good selection of 35mm, 120 and 4x5 film, and said they process 4x5 as well.

Thanks for such an amazing list. It's really useful. I have tried three shops in Hong Kong two in Tsuen Wan (they are not in your list) and Dot-Well. The last one is acceptable, but I'm looking for a professional developing/scanning service more than a street-shop type. If you can mention two names, would be so much appreciated!! :) BTW, Next week I'm gonna try 'For the art studio" shop in Cheung Sha Wan, they showed me a few samples of their developing and scanning. Hope it works out good.
